Gays Say Day Sexy

WHILE the new Canadian Alliance Party was in Calgary this weekend conducting the first ballot in its leadership race, gays in Canada - and around the world - were busy with their own invaluable contribution to the future of Canada's opposition party.

Visitors to the websites MyGayCanada.com and LesBiGay Vancouver Online have been asked over the past 24 hours if they think Stockwell Day is sexy.  The preliminary results show that 63% of gay men think that he is.

"We knew we couldn't get gay men interested in the actual Alliance race," said Mark Robins, Webmaster for both MyGayCanada.com and LesBiGay Vancouver Online.  "We were originally going to ask visitors to our sites who they thought would win the Canadian Alliance leadership race but quickly realized that most gay men really could care less.  The only interest we would have in the race is to find out who we would need to help defeat in the next election.  After all, we know what the Canadian Alliance thinks about homosexuality."

Robins went on to say that "a lot of gay men think that Stockwell Daything is a very sexy man so we decided to find out if it is true.  It has been a long time since we've had a leader of a major political party in this country that gay men could admire.  Physically, that is.  Had our web sites existed many years ago, we probably would have conducted a similar poll about Pierre Trudeau.  The big difference, though, is Pierre would have been someone we could also have supported politically."

Voting in the unscientific poll is scheduled to continue for the next two weeks.  Viewers are urged to visit MyGayCanada.com or LesBiGay Vancouver to cast their own vote.
